The Missouri Whitewater Association holds an annual spring two-day clinic for kayak, open and decked canoes for people already possessing basic river paddling skills. The clinic is designed to introduce whitewater techniques on Class II whitewater. [ read more ]

Pool Classes

Forest Park Community College holds four beginner kayak sessions a year. Two in the fall, usually starting around the end of August and two in the spring starting early January. Each session is eight weeks long with the exception of one occasionally falling near a major holiday, which makes it a seven week class. Classes run from 6:15 pm till 8:45 pm. Some of the group usually goes out to dinner after. You can check into the classes on line by going to Forest Park Community College website and looking under non credit classes , then look under PEDU, Forest Park, Wed night, John Foster and hit enter.
