Sign Up Now for the January, St. Louis, Practice Pool Session at the South County YMCA, 12736 Southfork Rd. 63128 (near 270 and Tesson Ferry). For those of you who haven't participated before, this is open time in the pool to bring your boat and practice your rolls, strokes, playboating moves, etc. It’s on Sunday evenings for eight weeks, starting January 6, 2008. Two sessions are available: 5 to 7 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The earlier session tends to have more families with kids. The later session includes sea kayaks. Details below. Please note that in order for the MWA to be invited back next year, boats must be clean and free of all debris BEFORE you get to the pool (cleaning boat on edge of pool is not adequate!). If you are interested, get your money in right away, before the sessions are full. Payment is needed by December 15. If for some reason you need to cancel at the last minute, your money will only be refunded if there is someone else to take your place. 5 to 7 Session. Be aware that you will be paddling obstacles such as small children. Children under eight should be with a person large enough to protect them from monstrous, flesh-eating boats and paddles. The cost is $20 for one person or $35 for families, and you need to be an ACA member (single or family, whichever applies) or add $10 for insurance for each person. For more information or to sign up, contact Joe Sartori at paddlenut@sbcglobal.net.
